Just Step-Out of your Stagnancy
Hello Friend,
What a glorious day this is! Looking outside my deskside window, I can see these beautiful trees looking fresh and green, and blooming with flowers. This is a good example of the HOPE we can have as a Child of God, to CHANGE. Our 'wilderness' is not permanent—it can CHANGE, to BLOOM and FLOURISH again!
What are you seeing through your 'window'? Did you appreciate the blessing and the beauty of a new day and the new opportunities to become BETTER today than yesterday?
This picture that you see is my dog hesitating to STEP OUT of our front door threshold. She was always used to playing with her ROPE-TOY inside the house; you can say she was HARD-WIRED that way. However, I wanted to break that LIMITATION and STAGNANCY and wanted her to STEP OUT of her COMFORT ZONE. So I began encouraging her gently to STEP OUT and play in the corridor. Though initially she was fearful and hesitant, she later took the COURAGE to take the 'GIANT LEAP' onto the corridor. LOL!
So is life, my friend. We are HARD-WIRED by nurture or nature to STAY SAFE in our COMFORT ZONES and are unwilling to STEP OUT to explore the 'world', so to speak. And sad to say, this inhibits us from GROWING, PROGRESSING, and we remain STUCK and STAGNANT in life. Is this you?
The WORLD is full of opportunities. The BIGGEST 'LOCKED DOOR' that LIMITS us is located between our own EARS. We have been TOLD or TAUGHT not to STEP OUT and take some RISKS in life. Maybe its our own FEARS—FEAR of FAILURE, INSECURITY, UNCERTAINTY—and maybe we are HAPPY to remain in our COMFORT ZONES.
Like BECKY with the rope-toy in her mouth, we like to 'PLAY' and 'LIVE' only within our COMFORT ZONE. I call this 'THE PARALYSIS of the FAMILIAR'. We are paralyzed by our WRONG THINKING sadly HARD-WIRED and we are unwilling to take the courageous FIRST STEP.
I am thinking of Abraham in the BIBLE, who STEPPED OUT of his comfort zone by FAITH and walked the PROMISED LAND, the length and breadth of it. What an example to follow! What about Apostle Peter, when JESUS told him to STEP OUT of his comfortable BOAT? He surely learned that DAY he can 'WALK on WATER' by obeying HIS word.
What is the first STEP OUT of stagnancy?
Its ACTIONS that follow the CHANGE of THINKING. This is called REPENTANCE.
Put ACTION to the WORD we READ everyday. For example, the Book of Matthew chapter 5 shows us some areas to ACT on, especially verses 2 to 16—STEP-OUT and PRACTICE those verses. We will first begin to see ENLARGEMENT within us. As the Psalmist says in Psalms 31:8, "You have set my feet in a large place."
To STEP OUT of our STAGNANCY, into a 'LARGE PLACE', we not only READ God's WORD but we ACT on it.
That's enough for now. Do not hesitate to EMAIL me or MESSAGE me on WhatsApp.
Would love to hear from you.
Shalom!
