Are you an enemy of God?
Hello God’s people—and yes, even potential enemies of God!
Don’t be alarmed by that unusual greeting. It may sound strong, but it invites us into a deeper and necessary truth: how can people who belong to God sometimes be described in Scripture as His enemies?
The Bible presents a powerful assurance in Romans 8:31, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This reveals God’s heart toward us: He is for us, not against us. His intentions are good, His posture is loving, and His covenant stands firm.
Yet, at the same time, Scripture also warns believers that it is possible to live in opposition to God, even while claiming to belong to Him.
Consider James 4:4, Romans 8:7 and Colossians 1:21:
“Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God”
“And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled…”
Do you see this, we can be in the same TEAM with GOD yet OPPOSE HIM with our CARNAL, UNRENEWED MIND. The logical consequence is that it leads us to WICKED WORKS.
We can put on the ACT for only sometime, but the FRUIT will become evident soon, the REAL CONTENT in our MINDS will be exposed.
“How can two walk together unless they agree” - Amos 3:3
It’s simple - GOD’s Friends agree and align with GOD’s MIND, their works bear witness to that. Romans 12:2
Shalom!
